David McCormack:

I was raised in California and skied most of my life in the western part of the United States, two years of which was spent living and skiing full time in Aspen, Colorado.  Five winters ago, my wife and I moved to Steamboat Springs and I am enthusiastically back at skiing full time.  While here in Steamboat, I found my second passion, working with the kids at Humble Ranch.  When I found I could combine both passions by teaching with the STARS program, I jumped in with both feet.  What a blessing it has been.  I am hooked for as long as I am able to ski with these great kids and wonderful adults.

Steve Dearborn:

I have been volunteering for the Horizon’s ski program for the past 13 yrs.  I’m a level one Alpine Instructor as well as level one adaptive mono-bi PSIA certified ski instructor.   I’ve lived in Steamboat Springs area for 19 yrs.  I enjoy sharing my passion with skiing with people.  I’m also a licensed massage therapist and building contractor specializing in outdoor living additions.

Mary Ellen Shaughnessy:

My name is Mary Ellen Shaughnessy and I live in Steamboat Springs, Co.  I have lived in Steamboat for 7 years after retiring from Jefferson County Schools in Evergreen, Co..   I was a special education teacher for 9 years in the school district and obtained my masters degree in Special Education from the University of Colorado at Denver in 1998.  Since retiring from the teaching profession, I have taught snowboarding at Copper Mt. and skiing and snowboarding at the Steamboat Ski Resort.  I currently hold a Level 1 certification in Snowboarding.  In the past, I have volunteered for Horizons, Stars and the National Sports Center for the Disabled at Winter Park, and Special Olympics.  I am a very active adult enjoying the outdoors, which include skiing, snowboarding, hiking, cycling, and running.
